trying to close the digital divide muthafuckas.

so here i sit at larry's main entrance taking a break from the webcasts i've been watching about various reference sources. that's right. i'm at a bar with my laptop and headphones listening to my prof. talk about dictionaries and almanacs and maps. i'm drinking of course but only wine. g&t's may make me lose my focus. although i love larry's with all my heart and soul it is not very conducive to studying. it is very dim in here. very dim. and i'm drinking for christ's sake. the webcasts are rather long thus i have consumed four glasses of wine and will soon request my fifth. i'm taking notes and trying to pay attention but all i can hear is the pretentious bastard at the table next to me talking about his guitar, his english degree, and why girls love him so much even though he isn't into them. christ.

if only i had the internet at my apartment. then i could be at home drinking in a well lit room minus the asshole and headphones. the wine would be cheaper too. in library school i have learned all about the digital divide and although i feel like i am a victim as i sit here in larry's listening to fucking webcasts, a speaker i saw at SAA sums it up a little better, "when we talk about the digital divide remember that there are people in the world who have never made a telephone call." hum. that may be true but do those non-phone users have to suffer through library school? i think not.

Man, you and Ginnie are going to be the danger duo after classes this fall. I foresee a lot of "studying."
